| CONTACT - HOW TO REACH US
By air:
Braunschweig does not have its own main airport, but lies on
the main rail connection between Hannover/Berlin and Berlin/Frankfurt
am Main. The connection times are:
- Frankfurt am Main - Braunschweig:
3 hours
- Hannover - Braunschweig: 0.5-1.0 hour
- Berlin - Braunschweig: 1-2 hours
Many international flights land in Frankfurt am Main and
it is probably quicker to take the train connection rather
than
waiting for a connecting flight to Hannover! Information
on the various airports can be found at:
Hannover
Frankfurt/Main
Berlin (3 airports) Berlin/Tegel, Berlin/Tempelhof, and Berlin/Schönefeld By train:
Braunschweig is an ICE (Inter City Express) station and is
easy to reach. ICE trains travelling in the direction Hannover-Berlin
do not pass through Braunschweig, but go via Wolfsburg (with
connecting trains to Braunschweig). ICE trains travelling
in the direction Frankfurt-Berlin stop in Braunschweig. Those
trains stopping in Braunschweig can be found via the timetable
of the DB (Deutsche
Bahn/German Railway). Please note that
the timetable may only recognise "airport" as "Flughafen" and
that main line train stations are usually designated "Hbf"(Hauptbahnhof)
i.e. "Hannover Hbf". All train stations usually
have printed German-English timetables posted on the platforms.
When leaving the platforms head in the direction "Ausgang
City/exit City".
The bus and tram station is located to the left of the train
station exit (Ausgang Stadt/exit City). An electronic bus and
tram timetable/destination board (in German) is to be found
at the bus station. Taxi stands are also to the left of this
exit.
